Apple Picking and Pumpkin Patches
Until late October – Check out Homestead Farms in Poolesville, Maryland – it is pumpkin season and their apple season usually runs until late October!
Until November 7 – Cox Farm’s Festival Market offers all your favorite favorites from pumpkins, apples, cider, pies, and much more!
The Washingtonian has a great list of orchards you can visit in the area for apple picking.
Halloween-inspired, Spooky and Scary Activities
Until November 4 – Cox Farm’s Fields of Fear – Based in Centreville, this Virginia farm transform every Friday and Saturday night into the ultimate spooky adventure.
Until October 31 – Markoff’s Haunted Forest – Haunted trail in Dickerson, Maryland. Enjoy scares and thrills on Americas longest haunted trail.
Until October 29 – Six Flag’s America hosts its annual Fright Fest in Bowie, Maryland. Enjoy roller coasters, spooky décor, and scare attractions at the amusement park!
Until October 31 – Get a Scream Pass and prepare for some scares at Field of Screams in Maryland!
Until November 4– Laurel’s House of Horror in Maryland. From escape rooms to a haunted house, this attraction has all the scary attractions a horror movie enthusiasts will enjoy.
Anytime – Visit “The Exorcist” Steps in Georgetown – Stroll through Georgetown and visit the narrow and daunting stairwell was in the 1973 film.
Anytime – Take a ghost tour and find out about DC’s history while checking out some of the haunted spaces!
Fairs and Festivals
October 28 – Head to Reston to see and shop for all sorts of crafts and artisan goods, from glassworks to artwork, at the sixth annual U.C.P. Fall Art and Craft Fair!
November 4 – Head over to Nationals Park to enjoy live music, food trucks and craft brews from local breweries at DC Beer Fest!
Until November 7 – The Pumpkin Village Fall Fest at Leesburg Animal Park is a perfect family activity for a fall day, chock full of activities from pony rides, hay maze, face painting, and so much more!
Until November 7 – Cox Farm’s Fall Festival opens Thursday to Monday until early November and features all sorts of activities from live entertainment, farm animals, hayrides, and so much more!
