I love the movies and go at least once a month to check out the newest film whether it is action, a drama or even animation – it’s a great distraction, especially on a rainy day. Northern Virginia and DC offer some amazing movie experiences! Don’t settle for a mundane theater when you can enjoy a one-of-a-kind adventure at these places:
Washington, DC: First on my list is the Landmark Atlantic Plumbing Cinema on V St in Washington DC and Landmark E Street Cinema. Both DC theaters are known for their cozy size, luxurious feel, bar, and delicious food and drink options. I love settling down in the oversized leather seats with an adult beverage in hand!
Arlington, VA: The Alamo Drafthouse in Crystal City/Arlington is known for its old school movie theater vibes. This theater offers food and drinks served right to your seat – just fill out your order using the slip of paper at your seat, press the button, and get ready for your food! It’s the perfect place for a fun night out with friends or family. I love sharing the popcorn with my friends while reclining and watching a movie on the big screen.
Falls Church| Merrifield: If you are in the Mosaic District, you definitely need to stop by Angelika Film Center – its dynamic glass building is hard to miss! Enjoy a diverse range of films from mainstream to indie to cult classics in plush velour stadium seating in a cutting-edge theatrical environment. In addition to traditional movie snacks, Angelika offers craft beverages and gourmet menu items. I’m a sucker for the pretzel bites. Be sure to check out their website and be on the lookout for special viewings and events!
Step outside the chain movie theater box and check out one of these theaters — you won’t be disappointed!
