Home Story: 1368 Emerald St NE Washington DC

There is so much to love about this home! We have so many wonderful memories — our son was born in Washington DC and this house was his first home. He learned to crawl, walk, and ride his scooter here – he also made wonderful friends with other children on Emerald Street.
We will miss sitting out front and enjoying the shade of the maple tree; hosting parties for friends and neighbors, cooking at home and entertaining family from across the country. Because of the large, open living area and the three bedrooms, we always felt that we had the perfect amount of space for whatever we needed.
Living on Emerald Street in our beautiful home gave us the best of both worlds: the ability to live on Capitol Hill and take advantage of everything DC has to offer, while also having a bright, comforting home where we could curl up in front of the fireplace or have neighbors over for game night. The Emerald Street community came to feel like one big family with many fun events — annual block parties where the street gets closed off, Friday night happy hours, and daily play dates with kids and adults on the street. When you live on Emerald Street, you get both a wonderful home and a fantastic community.
It doesn’t get any better than Emerald Street. Our end unit house allowed us to feel like we had extra privacy while still being part of the active street community. The updates we made to the home and back yard, coupled with the open spaces and charming tree-lined street made us feel like we were living in our dream home! It was a perfect place to live for 12 years and the memories we made in our home are priceless. The next owners of this home are truly lucky to have found this gem on Capitol Hill.
